Filmmaker Information

Berndt Mader is a recent graduate from the MFA film production program at the University of Texas at Austin. His short films include PAY DIRT, a documentary about two men digging for lost Spanish treasure on a Texas ranch, and the 16mm experimental narrative, A NEUTRAL DENSITY (Best Screenplay, Cinematexas 2005), about the effects of modern life and man’s desire to return to nature. He has completed his MFA thesis film, ROAD TO TLACOTEPEC, a personal documentary about driving through Mexico and Belize in order to finish his father's (a photographer) last roll of film. Berndt Mader currently lives in Austin, Texas and is a partner in the production company The Bear.
