Synopsis: A touching story of a small provincial village, Massa Finalese near Modena, Italy in 1942 and how destiny and WWII alter the lives of a brave, simple people. Massa Finalese is the land of the duck in the Po Valley where a festival is held celebrating the duck season and where protagonists Mario, Loris, Oreste, and Gino each have dreams they carry with them as they traverse the difficult economic times. Famed composer Beppe D’Onghia’s sweeping, beautiful music, coupled with a story written and directed by Egidio Veronesi, create a moving portrait of a small village on the brink of momentous change.
