2009 Ozark Foothills FilmFest Screenwriting Competition
Eligibility
1. The competition is open to first-time screenwriters; screenwriters who have
had previous feature screenplays produced, optioned or distributed by
non-independent means are not eligible.
2. Screenplays must be the original work of
the author. No adaptations -- unless you are adapting your own work.
3. Writers must be 18 years of age or have a
parent or guardian sign the release form.
4. Submissions must be originally written in
English. No translations from another language into English.
5. Collaborative work is eligible, however,
the winners are responsible for the division of the contest prizes.
6. There is no limit to the number of
entries, but each entry must be accompanied by an
entry form and fee.
7. No pornography will be accepted.
8. Judges may consider correct format in
judging.
Entry Fee
1. Each script must be accompanied by $20 personal or cashier’s check payable to
Ozark Foothill FilmFest.
2. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Deadline
All screenwriting entries must be postmarked or submitted online by December 1,
2008. Once your script has been submitted, no subsequent revisions or
additional pages will be accepted.
Format Requirements
1. Screenplays must be feature length (approximately 90 to 120 pages). Scripts
should not exceed 125 pages. They may be submitted electronically, but if you
send a hard copy please send four copies.
2. DO NOT put your name or address anywhere on the cover, title page, or
anywhere in or on the script so that the reader does not know the name or gender
of the screenwriter. Scripts with names will be delayed in judging and may be
disqualified.
3. No nonstandard scripts, shooting scripts, teleplays, shorts, novels or short
stories.
4. No additional materials including but not
limited to illustrations, letters, synopses, musical scores, audio cassettes or
CDS, cast lists, resumes, etc. should be included with your submission.
Judging
1. The decision of the judges is final.
2. Winners to be announced at an awards
ceremony on Thursday, March 26 in Batesville.

Application Process
1. All applications must be completed and
typed or printed clearly.
2. Do not send original copies of the script.
Entries cannot be returned.
3. Applications must be accompanied by:
a. correctly formatted speculation copy of
the script being entered. DO NOT put your name anywhere on the script!
b. $20 entry fee
c. completed and signed
entry form (one per writer if
multiple writers

Prizes
Cash prizes will be award for first, second,
and third place. First Place–$500; Second Place–$300; Third Place–$200.
Additional merchandise prizes will be announced.
